Tom Clancy’s The Division has had a long and winding road toward release. After its initial announcement at E3 2013, the game quickly jumped to many gamers’ most wanted lists. However, delays and development troubles have tarnished its once great image, though recent trailers have looked excellent nonetheless.
With an exclusive Closed Alpha on Xbox One starting in a couple of days, many fans were anxiously awaiting the upcoming Beta, where they could try the game out ahead of release. Unfortunately Ubisoft has announced that The Division Beta has been delayed until Early 2016.
Originally slated for this month, The Division Beta was meant to give those who pre-ordered the game a chance to check it out before its March 8th release date. Before that will be the Xbox One exclusive Closed Alpha, which will be very difficult to get into. Those who have pre-ordered the game will be given top priority though, as compensation for the Beta’s delay.
This Alpha, and the Beta that will follow some time next year, will be the first look at modes outside of the Dark Zone PvP. The Division is a dense and complicated action-RPG experience, with multiple varieties of play for gamers to try out. This will be an important look at other modes, while givin Ubisoft information about how the game is handling at this time.
Tom Clancy’s The Division hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 8th, 2016.
