Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 looks like it will eventually ship more units than its predecessors. The first week shipment numbers are looking impressive so far.
As announced by Bandai Namco (via Gematsu), Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has managed to ship 1.4 million units so far. The game was released today in Japan, but launched in other countries last week.
To put this into perspective, the first game shipped 1.5 million copies in one month. This goes to show us that demand for the sequel is very high. Not to mention the sequel is only available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The first game was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 too.
The increased sales may have been due to the newfound interest in the Dragon Ball franchise. We can thank Dragon Ball Super and the recent Dragon Ball Z animated movies for that. Before them, there was a quiet period for the franchise outside of the video games.
Even though the game has just come out, Bandai Namco is already planning DLC for it. We’re not sure what will be out just yet, but two new characters from Dragon Ball Super have already been announced. Not to mention Hit, Goku Black and Future Trunks are already available.
