This week three new releases top the Japanese software list, according to the numbers provided by MediaCreate. We are talking about Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 – Professional for 3DS, and the PlayStation 4 exclusives Nioh and Four Goddesses Online: Cyber Dimension Neptune, which is the newest entry in the Neptunia series.

Starting with the top position, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 – Professional (122.051) is a re-release with additional content of the original Joker 3 game. Square Enix has vowed that this release marks the end of the Joker series for good, and considering the sales and the fact it has almost sold out its first shipment, it’s had a good finale.

Next up is Team Ninja’s brand new IP, the Dark Souls distant relative Nioh (75.477). The game has beat all expectations considering the low preorders pointed to launch sales closer to 40k copies, and that some stores are even reporting that the game is sold out. The company is even offering a 10% discount on the digital version in order to make up for the lack of physical copies.

In this case the latest demo and the good reception by the first buyers has made the title much more interesting for the public. The development team can be really satisfied, considering this makes Team Ninja regain the critical and public appreciation after the exit of Dead or Alive’s creator Tomonobu Itagaki and a series of disappointing releases.

The last new entry is a spin off from the famed RPG Neptunia series, Four Goddesses Online: Cyber Dimension Neptune (42.508), which has sold as much as the two last main entries for PSVita and PS4 combined.

In the hardware chart, PS4 and 3DS top the list as usual. PSVita starts slowing down its sales, and WiiU, PS3 and Xbox One have merely testimonial numbers.
