EA Looking To Unban Origin Access To The Country Of Myanmar

An interesting story happened over the weekend where EA blocked access to Origin to the entire country of Myanmar. The company is looking to fix this.

Companies from time-to-time ban users from using their services. This could be because they are hackers, cheaters or violated the rules.

As reported by Kotaku, EA actually banned Origin access to the entire country of Myanmar. Users in the country get “Access Denied” so they cannot play the likes of Battlefield 1 or Titanfall 2.

An EA spokesperson told Kotaku: “We are working to restore access to Origin for our players in Myanmar. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we’ll share updates on timing as soon as possible.

Why was Myanmar banned in the first place? The Reddit user that noticed the ban in the first place blamed it on US law. None of the users in the country have been offered a refund as of yet or a proper explanation.

Thankfully EA are looking into this so people from Myanmar aren’t getting shafted. Hopefully this issue is resolved soon since it’s the Holiday season coming up and I’m sure many people play games then.
