There is currently a closed alpha that is underway for EA and DICE’s Battlefield 1, though not as many people have been able to get into it as was originally suggested. EA has now shared some insights into this closed alpha, and their intention to keep it small.
While some may have been hoping that they might get a late invite to this closed alpha, the company has now posted this FAQ page detailing what is going on. They reveal that the closed alpha is “just a very small, closed test,” and that they’ve “already let in everyone [they] need for this test and won’t be giving away access to anyone else.”
It seems that the process for getting into the alpha for those who are in it now was completely random, and there was no announcement suggesting that the invites were on the way to those who got them.
However, players who were hoping to get in don’t have to be bummed for too long, as there will be an open beta for the game that will be coming soon that they will be announcing on Battlefield.com.
Battlefield 1 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 21st.
