Nintendo also had a quick summary about the new Nintendo Zones used in Street Passes now. Now, you no longer need to be in physical proximity to someone with a 3DS to use Street Pass. At select zones, a 3DS user can leave a Street Pass hotspot which another 3DS user can use for Street Pass. This will work in Animal Crossing New Leaf, where you can obtain unique items if you successfully Street Pass while playing the game.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy is an upcoming puzzle game coming exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS in 2014. It will be developed by Level-5 and published by Nintendo. According to Akihiro Hino, CEO of Level-5, it will be the last game to star Professor Layton as the protagonist.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is an upcoming Zelda game for the Nintendo 3DS and a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Iwata also stressed that while the world is similar, the puzzles and dungeons are completely new and that this game is set many years after Link to the Past. It will be launched November 2013.

For The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Iwata mentioned that there had been some adjustments compared to the original game, most notably that collecting shards was made easier and that sailing would be faster and less time-consuming. It will launch October 2013 for the WiiU.

It was also announced that Luigi will be a playable character for Super Smash Bros. for both the Nintendo 3DS and the WiiU.

Finally, there will be an Animal Crossing New Leaf community for MiiVerse to allow people around the world to communicate to one another.
