After a year it seems that Fallout 4 is coming to an end. The game, which launched in November 2015 has had four DLC expansions so far, with two left to go. Unfortunately Bethesda has confirmed that those two pieces of DLC will be the game’s last. Nuka-World will be the final piece of content released for Fallout 4, bringing to a close the adventure that gamers have enjoyed by the millions.
Nuka-World is the sixth piece of DLC for Fallout 4, but it is only the second large expansion. Far Harbor was the first, bringing a new landmass to explore, as well as dozens of hours worth of missions. Most of the other DLC released for Fallout 4 has been smaller in nature, adding new Workshop elements or gameplay mechanics.
Personally, this is a bit disappointing to hear. Fallout 4 was a great game, but it did have some issues. A lack of mission variety was one of them, and Far Harbor really helped to fix that. Nuka-World looks to do the same, giving players an entire theme park to explore. With promises of more DLC this year and all the talk about the Season Pass being worth so much more than its initial cost, it was easy to get your hopes up that there was a lot more in store for Fallout 4 fans.
Still, for $30 at launch and $60 after the price increase, fans have gotten a decent amount of new content. Far Harbor was the biggest and best, and should please most who were looking for more variety and intrigue to the game. Hopefully Nuka-World follows suit and we get more of those well designed missions, and interesting characters. We also still have the Valut-Tec Workshop coming, so players who want to make their own Vault have a lot more to look forward to.
Fallout 4 Nuka-World will hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC in August, and is part of the Fallout 4 Season Pass.
