With only a week to go until the release of the latest entry in the long running FIFA franchise, the final details are finally being released about the game. Considering Ultimate Team is one of the most popular game modes in most every EA Sports franchise, any details about that mode are quite precious. As a result, EA Sports has released new details about methods of carryover you will find in the mode this time around.

FIFA 15 features two types of carryover within the Ultimate Team mode. The first is the transfer of FIFA Points from FIFA 14 to FIFA 15, which can be done only between Xbox 360 and Xbox One or PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. This is a one time process that absolutely cannot be reverted after the fact. EA Sports only mentions the transfer between one generation to the next, but it is assumed that you can also transfer points from last year’s game to this year’s game on the same console. While FIFA Points are transferrable, FUT coins will not sadly.

The FAQ from EA Sports also included a question about shared content between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 or Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

“Your FUT content is available on both consoles and you will be able to access your FIFA 15 Ultimate Team full roster, tournament trophies, in-game items, FIFA Points, and in-game currency (coins) from either console: between Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.”

Basically, it appears that as long as you get the game on the same company’s platform as the original, you will have access to most of your Ultimate Team content in FIFA 15.

FIFA 15 is set to arrive for a number of platforms on September 23.
