Five Nights At Freddy’s Short Film Proves Just Why A Movie Will Work

by Dean James

Five Nights at Freddy’s has become a bit of a phenomenon in the nine months since its debut last August. In that time, we’ve seen two very well received sequels released, another revealed, and even the announcement of a major motion picture from Warner Bros. Pictures. Based on the history of movies based on games, many were obviously skeptical, but a new very short fan film that has been released based on Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, really shows the potential of the series on the big screen.

The fan film in question comes from Typhoon Cinema, who have teamed up with Deviant Pictures Films to make this short. Within this video, we see some highly disturbing atmospheric scenes that all concludes with one of the patented death scenes that is found in the game series. The animation is top notch and all of the music and sound is original as well.

The key to making Five Nights as Freddy’s a box office success is probably keeping it as minimalist as possible. Five Nights as Freddy’s is most scary due to its unknowing nature and that fact that you are the one in control. A movie would obviously take the latter aspect out of the equation, but movies like Paranormal Activity have proven that it can work in movies as well. This fan film is probably a good direction to go for the movie, so hopefully we can see the full length motion picture have the same level of intensity as this short.
