Frostpunk: Console Edition Announced, Launches This Summer

11 Bit’s Studios has announced that their popular survival sim game Frostpunk will be releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Summer. The company had always been planning to bring the title to the home console market at one point or another, and at long last owners of the aforementioned systems will be able to enjoy one of the best strategy games in recent memory.

Going by the name, Console Edition, this version of Frostpunk will have all of the previous updates that were released on PC, as well as The Fall of Winterhome add-on, select customization options, difficulty settings and other balance changes. Other than that, players can expect the same nail biting during gameplay that made people fall in love with the game in the first place.

Frostpunk originally came out on the PC through Steam, GOG, and other outlets in Spring of 2018. Compared to the X-Com series in terms of difficulty, the game has you take the role of the Leader in a dystopian city powered by steam and surrounded by extreme cold weather. As the Leader, you’ll be faced with difficult choices that may very well boil down to some people not making it through the process.

No release date was given, but since we’re not too far away from Summer we expect 11 Bit’s to announce that fairly soon. While most games that are ported from PC to console suffer in some shape or another, the trailer gives up hope that developer will keep the core experience intact as they make the transition.
