A poll asked many gamers from around the world what their favorite video game franchise of all time is. Those gamers chose Activision’s “Call of Duty” franchise above all else.

Gamespot has reported that the poll was conducted by Guinness World Records for their upcoming “2015 Gamer’s Edition” book. 5000 gamers from over 140 countries participated in the poll and Call of Duty was voted in as the best video game franchise.

Super Mario Bros. came in at second place while Minecraft came in at third. Minecraft coming third is surprising since there is only one game of it so far. In fourth place was Grand Theft Auto while Halo came fifth.

The fact that Call of Duty topped the likes of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Pokemon and other franchises is very surprising. If you visit any internet forum, a huge number of users talk negatively about the annual FPS franchise. Still, whoever the 5000 gamers they polled made up their minds and this is what came out of it.
