GTA Online problems still plaguing PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTA V

Not everyone’s experience with GTA V on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has been a good one.  Despite the game launching a short while ago with a slew of new single player features and decidedly better visuals, for some, GTA Online is broken and unplayable.

Rockstar forums have been flooded with complaints from GTA V owners who cannot connect to play the online portion of the game, and the developer even issued a patch which alleged to fix the issues.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have done so.  Forum goers are still shouting loudly that neither the update or Rockstar’s connection guide for GTA Online have done the trick.

In their connection guide, Rockstar points to common solutions as the answer for the issues.  Making sure NAT is set to open, and forwarding ports for the console seem to be the big thing they are urging players to try.  But there are other possible issues that might be arising, like Firewall, uPnP settings, and others that Rockstar tells players they should investigate.

Rockstar believes that the recent patch to 1.03 should fix the connection issues for most people.  Though on one Rockstar Support page, they even offer individual troubleshooting help for the affected members.

While Rockstar is ironing out the connection issues for GTA Online, they are still expected to release a bigger title update in the near future.  Hopefully, GTA Online will be working for the large majority when Online Heists finally come to the game.
