Given the popularity of mods for GTA IV, the potential for GTA V mods was a big talking point from the moment Rockstar announced the PC port for their latest open-world title.
And perhaps the most enticing mods of the lot were graphics mods, a trend popularised by the release of iCEnhancer for GTA IV, a mod that used a powerful and versatile graphical modding tool set called ENBSeries to bring GTA IV as close to photorealism as is possible. Enter GTA V.
That friends, courtesy of Flickr’s Berduu, is both a screenshot of GTA V as well as a demonstration of what graphical mods are capable of in the right hands.
Taken in the Rockstar editor, GTA V’s video editor, and using an alternative to ENBSeries called ReShade is a collection of screenshots that focus on fighter jets. Many of the jets, themselves, are modded in vehicles, but the screenshots are no less impressive.
Berduu is a screenshot artist who uses an amalgamation of composition and clever in-game photography to produce some truly spectacular images.
They’re not images you’ll likely be able to reproduce while playing the game, given the very particular lighting and perspectives used, but they are in-engine and ReShade as well as ENBSeries really can produce gorgeous visuals like the ones you’re seeing.
And before you get too excited, keep in mind that photorealism mods take a serious toll on even the most capable hardware, rendering most gaming rigs incapable of achieving comfortable frame rates.
Think of this as a look into the future of gaming.
