PlayStation 4 now sums three consecutive weeks at top of the Japanese hardware charts provided by Media Create, with the console increasing very slightly its numbers from last week. The console has been having a surge in interest recently, thanks in part to the upcoming release of Dragon Quest XI, expected at the end of the month.
Gundam Versus is a new fighting game based on the popular franchise, featuring team battles of 2v2 and 3v3 players. While the game has done numbers below the norm for the series, that was still enough to seel more than 100.000 copies in its debut, something that few PS4 games can say. The game is expected to release in North America in September. The only other new entry of the week is Omega Labyrinth Z for PS4 and PSVita, an RPG with a limited audience.
Nintendo Switch increased its sales by 1000 units, a minimal difference that reinforces the idea that the severe stock issues for the console are nowhere near to end, although it’s expected that Nintendo makes a large shipment for the release of Splatoon 2 next week. In the absence of new releases, the only games present in the top 20 are the usual Nintendo productions: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Arms, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
