HBO Go Launching on PS4 Today – Watch Game of Thrones, True Detective, and More

by Kyle Hanson

As cable subscriptions falter, the one shining spot has been HBO. Thanks to its excellent original programming, like Game of Thrones, True Detective, Silicon Valley, and Girls, the premium network has never been more popular. And with its HBO Go service, which will be a standalone product some time later, fans can watch their favorite shows through the internet on streaming devices like the PC and Xbox One. Now PS4 owners have joined the fun as the HBO Go app will be launching on that platform today.

The PS4 version of the HBO Go app will function just like its predecessor on PS3. You can download the app for free form the PlayStation Store, and then you just need to activate it to gain access to your favorite HBO shows and movies. To do this you simply click here to authenticate your PS4 with your cable provider.

Once all of that is done you’ll have streaming access to the entire collection of HBO content. You’ll want to do this soon though considering Game of Thrones Season 5 will be premiering on April 12th. You can stream new episodes of that show immediately upon their airing on TV, though you’ll probably want to give it time as the masses jump on and cause congestion.
