Apple’s next generation iPad had been rumored to be unveiled early next month, and it turns out that this rumor is true. Â The iPad 3 will be unveiled in San Francisco on March 7th at 10am, with a release date likely right behind it. Â We’ve been told that select media outlets have recieved invitations to attend the unveiling of the device.
March 7th will put the unveiling of the device smack dab in the middle of the Game Developer’s Conference. Â The next generation device is rumored to have a more powerful processor and a higher resolution display, making it an even better candidate for bigger and better gaming experiences on the tablet.
The iPad and tablets like it have become direct competitors to the traditional handheld makers like Sony and Nintendo by offering not only gaming experiences that are of like quality, but many functionalities that exceed what dedicated gaming handhelds are capable of.
We’ll have to wait and see what the reveal brings in terms of specs for the new tablet, but early rumors suggest that the higher resolution display, better processor, and subtle design changes will be the standout features.
