Janemba Accidentally Revealed for Dragon Ball FighterZ

It looks like we may have just found out who the final fighter for Dragon Ball FighterZ’s Second Season will be. Janemba, the main villain of the feature film Fusion Reborn, will eventually make his way into the game. However, the source of this leak is the real story. During This Week on Xbox, Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb made a faux pa by mentioning that GT Goku and Janemba skins are now out for the game.

While GT Goku is already a playable character, Janemba has never even been seen nor mentioned up to this point. Bandai Namco has not officially made a statement on the slip up, but ironically Xbox themselves have decided to have some fun at the Majors dispense by responding to someone mentioning it on Twitter. What we can take away from this is that the Majors accident on camera was in fact genuine and more or less confirms that Janemba will be coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ at some point.

For those who don’t know, Janemba plays a major role in the Fusion Reborn film. Created shortly before the end of the the Dragon Ball Z series, Janemba’s abilities and attitude are very similar to Majin Buu, who was the main antagonist of the final season. Born out of all of the negative energy which was built up and stored in the Afterlife, his only goal is to create chaos and destruction throughout the universe, and with some powerful abilities at his disposal, he nearly succeeds.

Of course, Goku and Vegeta come in to save the day as always, but you get the idea. He’s definitely one of the better movie villains from the franchise, pushing both Saiyans to their absolute limits at the time. We look forward to seeing him officially introduced for the game, as well as when his release date is. Speaking of which, their are two more fighters that are scheduled to be coming to the game later this year. Gogeta and Broly, both of which are based on their appearances from Dragon Ball Super: Broly and we’ll likely learn more about them at a later date too.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
