John Boyega talked a little bit more about Finn who is the character that he will play in Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens.

V Magazine talked to John Boyega recently on his experiences being in such a big movie like this, plus he also described in a little bit more detail who Finn is in the new movie.

Boyega first described on the first time J.J. Abrams called him to be in Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. Abrams was a fan of Attack of the Block “and we were waiting for a project where we could collaborate” he said. He said casting took seven months and then Abrams said to him “you’re the new star of Star Wars“. He then froze for several minutes…

Boyega didn’t give away too many details on Finn, but he did give us a few new clues on the character. He says the character is “in conflict, mostly with himself and also with the powers“. This might be a sign that Finn is Force sensitive. We already saw the character wielding a blue lightsaber in a teaser last month.

He also mentioned Finn has a “unique narrative “never before seen” in the Star Wars universe“. This is true as the character appears to be a Stormtrooper at the beginning of the movie, but then turns out to be a good guy once he crash lands in Jakku and meets Rey.
