The team that brought you the now famous Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod have announced that not only are they working on the same sort of mod for Just Cause 3, but they’ve already made some significant progress. In a video released on the Just Cause Multiplayer YouTube channel, the team shows off the current state of the mod, showing a few players racing around the JC3 map in cars, boats, planes, and…other vehicles.
The video is simply titled “We’re Back Again”, giving little or no information on the specifics of the mod. The previous version of the mod took quite a while to take shape, never really getting a finished release before the sequel arrived. It seems that the team is already hard at work though, so we could expect some faster results this time around.
Many gamers purchased Just Cause 2 simply to try out the multiplayer mod, which threw dozens of players together into the cause that is the JC world. Players could interact with each other, and the many vehicles found in the game, resulting in some truly breathtaking moments.
Getting this mod up and running on Just Cause 3 would really reshape the experience, as many had hoped the game’s development team would have included the feature by default, due to its popularity on PC. However, as with many mods, the experience is a bit choppy, with bugs and glitches being an ever present issue. Hopefully the new game’s beefier engine will allow the mod team to get it running in a better state, and quicker.
Just Cause 3 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, however this mod will likely be a PC exclusive feature. No release date was given in this announcement, so keep an eye out for more news as the team gets work completed.
