Mad Hatter confirmed for Batman: Arkham Origins

by William Schwartz

In a massive spread dedicated to Batman: Arkham Origins, OXM has revealed new details about the upcoming game. Namely, the inclusion of the Mad Hatter in Batman: Arkham Origins. While the Hatter played a small role in Batman: Arkham City, the magazine says that his role in Origins will be expanded a bit as a “Most Wanted side mission character”.

Somewhere deep within Wonderland lurks the Mad Hatter

A quote from the magazine describes his inclusion: “Wonderland is a weird, unsettling place at the best of time. Seen through an Arkham lens, Lewis Carroll’s creation is a dark hellscape of traps, dilapidated towers, and nightmarish illusions. Somewhere deep within it lurks the Mad Hatter, who’s kidnapped a young woman to be his new “Alice” and whose hypnotic devices have planted the realm in Batman’s Mind.”

Mad Hatter is just one of the many villains that will be found in Batman: Arkham Origins. The game centers around a younger Caped Crusader, who’s facing off against a group of assassins in prequel storyline to the previous Batman Arkham games. Over the weekend, Warner Bros. revealed that a female version of Copperhead would be making an appearance in Origins as well.

Batman: Arkham Origins is due out this October for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC.
