The Penny Arcade Expo is set to descend on Microsoft’s home town later this week. PAX West kicks off in Seattle on Friday August 30th, and Microsoft says that they’ve got some surprises in-store for the convention. Microsoft will have a presence at the Expo, and will be allowing convention goers to get hands-on with the Xbox One and a number of games. These include: Forza 5, Ryse, Project Spark, Killer Instinct, Battlefield 4, Kinect Sports Rivals, Fable Anniversary, Dead Rising, and “other surprises”.

According to Major Nelson, these “other surprises” include games that the Xbox spokesperson isn’t able to reveal at the moment.

Is it possible that Microsoft has a brand new reveal set for PAX West? Some think so. While Microsoft could play to the crowd of PAX with a big indie announcement, there are other unknown variables in the Microsoft equation that could be bigger AAA games as well. Crackdown has been one such game that has seen rumors flying. Microsoft’s new Black Tusk studio is also working on a mystery title.

But given Microsoft recent announcements about the Xbox ID program, our money is on a high profile indie title. Stay tuned for our coverage from PAX West later this week.
