Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition getting disc-based version

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition will soon be available at retailers in a new disc-based format. This disc-based version will allow players that don’t have their Xbox connected to Xbox Live, get in and build to their heart’s content.

The disc-based version of Minecraft will be the first of its kind. Mojang has offered Minecraft as a digital title since its inception, and has only been available on consoles as a download through the Xbox Live marketplace. This retail edition will feature all of the content that is included in the digital version, according to PLAYXBLA.

Minecraft will hit US retailers on April 30th and will be priced at $19.99. The boxed version of Minecraft is also planned for release in Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Digital Minecraft players on the Xbox 360 are still patiently awaiting Title Update 9 for the game, which is rumored to arrive later this month.
