PC users can breathe a sigh of relief with this latest announcement out of the Modern Warfare 3 camp.  When the game releases on PC this fall, Modern Warfare 3 will feature dedicated servers.  The franchise saw some controversy back in 2009 when Infinity Ward announced that Modern Warfare 2 would not feature dedicated servers on PC.

Announced at Gamescom earlier today, Infinity Ward and Activision addressed their implementations of the new server features as well as the possibility for rampant cheating.  Robert Bowling also confirmed the announcement on Twitter.

For hyper competitive players the cheating issue may be big hurdle to overcome, but in exchange, the majority of players should be able to have a much easier time finding smoother online experiences.  Time will tell if cheating runs wild in Modern Warfare 3.
