With only a few weeks until Christmas, console sales in Japan are clearly benefiting from the strong period of sales, with both Nintendo Switch and PS4 getting big increases compared to previous weeks. Nintendo is slowly upping the distribution of Switch consoles among retailers, although the results are coming under predictions, and they are still clearly not enough to satisfy the huge demand from the public.

PS4, on the other side, attracted dozens of Monster Hunter fans with a limited PS4 Pro bundle which featured a special design based on the upcoming Monster Hunter: World, and codes to download the game when it launches worldwide in January and to get access to the PS4 beta taking place this week. The bundle was so successful that the PS4 Pro surpassed in sales to the standard PS4 model (45.163 v 40.524).

On the software chart, most new releases were new PS4 games, including the two games topping the list: Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Earth Defense Force 5. Other new entries include Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters, Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package, and the complete editions of Nioh and Horizon: Zero Dawn.
