It was recently announced that one of Dragon Ball Z‘s main villains, Cell, will be a playable character in the upcoming fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ. Today (October 18), we got some news about even more villains joining the game’s roster.
The latest issue of V-Jump, as reported by Gematsu, has revealed that the villains Nappa and Captain Ginyu will be playable in the new game. According to Gematsu’s translation, Nappa will be able to summon Saibamen to attack his opponent and will have a special move that involves shooting a beam out of his mouth. Ginyu will be able to summon other members of the Ginyu Force to help him fight and will also be able to use his signature Body Change move, which will let him switch characters and HP with his opponent.
The issue also gives some information about the game’s Story Mode. In it, the player will be “linked” to a specific character depending on what Chapter of the story they are in. The player will be linked to Goku in one Chapter and then linked to Android 18 in the Android Chapter and then to Frieza in the Enemy Warriors Chapter. Apparently, players will also be able to develop “bonds” with characters. Developing a deeper bond with a character will allow the player to hear secret dialogue from those characters. While in Story Mode, players will be able to battle, gain experience points, rescue allies and learn skills.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is expected to release in early 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
