Naughty Dog is easily one of the most respected developers in the industry, thanks to a long standing history of quality games including Crash Bandicoot, Uncharted, and most recently The Last of Us. However, for some reason over the last year or so it has seemed like there has been a revolving door of staff members. Now, another member of the team has left, albeit no one in a major capacity.
Environment Artist David Ballard revealed his parting with the developer via his official Twitter account yesterday.
- Today is my last day at
@Naughty_Dog. I will miss all the amazing people here incredibly. It is an honor to have been a part of this team. - I helped ship
#Uncharted2,#Uncharted3,#TheLastOfUs and worked on#Uncharted4 in my time here. Very grateful for everything I have learned. - I am following a personal dream of mine and that leads me away from LA at this time. I look forward to sharing more about my future soon. :)
Unlike some of the other departures, this one seems to be completely amicable and not as a result of some conflict. It will be interesting to hear what Ballard will be pursuing, as the games he has worked on certainly had absolutely beautiful environments.
