For the first time in months, there are many new entries in the top 10 of this week’s United Kingdom sales charts. That includes NBA 2K18, Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and Metroid: Samus Returns. And despite all the competition, Destiny 2 holds at number 1 for second week in a row. Bungie’s shooter dropped a 71% in sales from last week, which probably says that even if the game has not performed as well as its predecessor, it’s still doing huge business.
NBA 2K18 debuts at number 2 in the All Formats list, achieving the biggest launch of a basketball game ever in the UK. Considering that feat, it’s not that surprising that the game managed to outsell a soccer game in the country, with Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 enterin the charts at number 3 with about the same sales as its predecessor.
Then there are other new entries including Dishonored: Death of the Outsider at number 6, Metroid: Samus Returns at number 8, Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition at number 11, and NHL 18 at number 23.While this is an unusual high number of new releases, they were not enough to make up for the launch of Destiny 2, and as a result the numbers of the market as a whole were down 27% from last week.
