THQ Nordic and Piranha Bytes have shared a new gameplay trailer of the upcoming open-world adventure ELEX, a game set to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, which presents a post-apocalyptic world in which science fiction and fantasy merge to create a very unique setting.
The world will be divided in five specific regions including snowed mountains, deserts and jungles, which players will have complete freedom to explore from the very beginning of the adventure. This liberty of action is the feature that is most highlighted in the trailer, as the game also allows players to face enemies using weapons from medieval times such as swords or arrows, and even fireguns from the future, as plasma rifles, or flame-throwers. Even the selection of enemies will showcase this mix of styles, as there will be ogres, dinosaurs, giant spiders and other monstruosities.
In the story, the world of the game has come to a desolated state after a meteor has impacted the planet, affecting all natural life and the civilizations living on it.
ELEX will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 17th, although we expect to receive more details during the E3 in the next few days. Preordering the game on any digital platform will give you 10% discount. For now, watch the new gameplay trailer below.
