The upcoming versions of the new Minecraft on Xbox One and PS4 will see some added benefits.  A further draw distance and bigger worlds will launch with the games, but higher player counts for multiplayer won’t be.

At launch, the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Minecraft will feature 8-player multiplayer modes, just like their Xbox 360 and PS3 counterparts.

Though it looks like 4J Studios could be working towards upping that count in future updates for the game.  A developer took to Twitter to reveal that they are working to allow more players.

“#minecraftxbox1 will be 8 player at releases but we will continue working to allow more players in a future update!,” says Roger Carpenter.

Minecraft on the Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita are slated to arrive shortly.  4J Studios says that they are nearing the finish line in development for these new Minecraft versions, but hasn’t given an exact release date just yet.   Back in May though, Mojang revealed that they are targeting an August release for the game, and those that already purchased the game for PS3 or Xbox 360 will be able to upgrade to the new Minecraft version at a discounted price.
