We’re almost positive that you have fond memories of unwrapping a brand new copy of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask one Christmas morning.  We can imagine the uncorked joy as you held your N64 controller and guided Link through Termina, solving one puzzle after the next, ultimately saving the kingdom from assured ruin.
Well, prepare to have that fond memory violated more ways than Orlando Bloom’s first day in a federal, super-max penitentiary. Two ambitious modders have created an abomination that basically borders on performance art. Creating a texture pack that renders Nicholas Cage’s face over that of Link, Epona, Skull Kid, and most of the masks in the original title of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask goes far beyond mere ambition.
“After months of uncomfortable work, the Nicolas Cage texture pack for Majora’s Mask is finally finished,” says YouTube user Criken2, one of the two Dr. Frankensteins responsible for this gorgeous monster. ”
Why make this you may ask? I wish I had an answer for you. The truth is co-modder Shayne and I lost the luxury of free will as soon as we began working on this project. We had no goal, only Cage.”
And only Cage, you have succeeded. Watch 13 minutes of Nic Cage mind raping your fondest childhood memories. This is brilliant, terrifying, and ultimately one of the most creative mods we’ve seen in pretty much forever. Let us know what you think after the watch.
