Nintendo has now released a new firmware update for the 3DS portable console. This new update takes the version number to 11.2.0-35U.
Nintendo of America posted details of the new Nintendo 3DS update on the official website. Official notes/details have been posted for you below.
Version 11.2.0-35U available via wireless Internet connection includes the following improvements: Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
As you can see above, it’s not a huge update since it does not come with any new features. Things might be more interesting next year with the release of the Nintendo Switch console.
The Nintendo Switch has been advertised as a hybrid console meaning it could be replacing both the Wii U and 3DS. It’s already been confirmed that physical Wii U and 3DS games are not backwards compatible with the new console coming out next year.
It will be cool to see if people are able to transfer digital 3DS and/or Wii U games onto the Nintendo Switch somehow. After all, there are fun games on both consoles. We’ll just have to wait and see what Nintendo announces next year. The company is choosing to stay relatively quiet about the Switch for the remainder of 2016.
