Releasing the Xbox One S in August has been a very smart move for Microsoft. Not only is it selling well in Australia, but it continues its dominance in North America too.

As noted by IGN, Microsoft stated that the “Xbox One was once again the best-selling console in October in the U.S., U.K. and Australia“. This is according to results given to them by both the The NPD Group and GfK Entertainment.

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg also tweeted out this statement: “New @npdgroup data shows @Xbox One best selling US console 4th month in a row. Thanks for also making us #1 console in UK & Australia!

October 2016 was helped with the releases of both Gears of War 4 and Battlefield 1. In North America, Gears of War 4 was the best selling platform exclusive. Both shooters also helped increase the number of Xbox Live usage by 52 percent compared to last year.

Full NPD results are not released until next week. Still, it has been a successful time for the Xbox brand. Things will be interesting though with the November release of the PS4 Pro. Sony might get back on top if people want their 4K gaming experience now.
