The countdown has begun for Oculus Rift pre-orders, with Oculus VR announcing that they will go live this Wendesday, January 6th at 8am Pacific Time. However, this doesn’t mean that they have answered all of the questions lingering for the VR headset device.

The Oculus Rift still does not have an official price or release date available to the public. These questions will likely be answered shortly though, with Oculus saying that they will “be sharing everything you need to know to order your Rift on Wednesday when pre-orders go live.”

All pre-orders of the Oculus Rift will come with two games for free. Namely, Lucky’s Tale by Playful and EVE: Valkyrie by CCP.

This is the first time that the official, consumer ready version of the VR headset will be available to the public to purchase. The device began life as a Kickstarter campaign, which went on to become ridiculously successful. That was for the first version of the developer’s kit though, which has now been updated quite a bit over the last few years.

The final Oculus Rift headset will have a higher resolution screen, more form fitting design, and many more improvements over the DK1 and DK2 that have been available up until now.
