Pirates Have Boarded the SS Modern Warfare 3

by | @AttackFanboy | on October 28, 2011

Ahoy!

It has been discovered that yet again, the biggest release of the year has found its way into the hands of pirates.  A pirated copy of Activision’s Modern Warfare 3 have begun to surface online.  The story thus far is that an employee at a shipping company in California has managed to snag one disc out of the two disc set.

Call of Duty: Black Ops had a similar fate last year, where Activision sent investigators to seek out those that had unlawfully procured advanced copies of the game with the intention of distributing the material online.  As it turns out, an investigation is already underway.

As Venture Beat reports, one pirate that was busted in the scandal last year has advised against not complying with the investigators into the matter.

You have to ask yourself though, how does one open an unmarked box of games, then open the game itself, and manage to get a copy.  Don’t you suspect it looks a bit odd to the person that is receiving the package? Furthermore, is it worth the trouble you could possibly get into?  Let us know in the comments section below.
