Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios at Sony Computer Entertainment has continued his tradition of answering PlayStation fan’s questions through his twitter account. We’ve previously covered some of his short but sweet style of announcing normally small, but often interesting PS4 information. The latest set of tweets reveal that the PlayStation Move and Navigation controllers will work with the PS4, but the PlayStation Eye won’t.
He first announced that an upcoming PS4 game, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, would get PS Move Support by tweeting a PlayStation blog post. Following up on this, one user asked; “will the Navigation controller be PS4 compatible too?”, to which Yoshida simply replied, “yes”.
He later explained to another twitter user that the new PlayStation Camera would be needed to use the PlayStation Move and Navigation controllers on the PS4 , not the current PS Eye. Other interesting information to come from Shuhei Yoshida included confirmation that the Dual Shock 4 controller could be charged without needing to have the PS4 on, but not wirelessly through the dual charging stand peripheral. PS4 games also cannot be installed to an external hard drive according to Yoshida.
So for anyone with a PS3 looking at getting a PS4; don’t get rid of your PlayStation Move, as there will still be support for it on Sony’s new console.
