Pokemon Go: Pokevision Website Shuts Down Its Servers

As we reported a few days ago, Niantic wanted to crack down on third party Pokemon Radar apps/websites for Pokemon Go. Pokevision was the best one and sadly they have decided to shut down their servers.

Pokevision tweeted out: “Hey guys. We wish we had some news for you. At this moment, we are respecting Niantic and Nintendo’s wishes. Will keep you guys posted.” They voluntarily shut down their own servers to avoid getting legal action from Nintendo and/or Niantic.

In further tweets Pokevision said: “I promise you 100% we kept it up as long as reasonably possible. Maybe things will change in the next few days – let’s hope“. Another one said: “Hey, we didn’t quit! We really hoped that we’d be able to continue it at least up until the in-game tracker is fixed”

If you are a Pokemon Go player, this is kind of bad news. Pokevision was really helpful in telling you where useful Pokemon were. Most of us see the same Pokemon appear and it gets boring.

Pokevision concluded that people may be able to use their website again if things change from Niantic’s side. They further said: “We hope soon, but we don’t know. We didn’t want to keep you guys in the dark. We hope that these circumstances change soon.”

If you go to the Pokevision website now, you will get a message that says “Our services are currently unavailable – please visit our Twitter for updates“. Hopefully they are allowed to operate again.
