Pokémon GO to Introduce Lucky Friends, Avatar Poses

Niantic recently announced that a couple of new features will be making their way to Pokémon GO soon. These are Lucky Friends, which will be sort of a new level of Friendship, and poses for your in-game avatar.

In the announcement, it is stated that once the Lucky Friends mechanic is added to the game, two players who are Best Friends can randomly become Lucky Friends by performing actions together, such as trading, taking on a Gym or Raid Battle together, or sending each other Gifts. Once two players have become Lucky Friends, the next time they trade, the trade will be guaranteed to result in the traded Pokémon becoming Lucky Pokémon. Once the trade is completed, the two players will revert back to Best Friend status. You can become Lucky Friends again, however, but only once per day.

It was also revealed that players will soon be able to customize their in-game avatars even more, this time through poses instead of just outfits. The pose you pick will influence how your avatar appears in your Trainer profile, your Friends’ Friend Lists, Raid Battle lobbies, Gyms, and battle previews before PvP battles.

It has not been revealed when exactly these new features will begin to roll out.

[Update: These features are now live.]
