Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were released last week and has already sold big over in its native country of Japan.
Famitsu has reported that collectively, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sold an impressive 1.535 million copies over in Japan. This includes sales of both games as well as a double pack too.
It’s worth mentioning that sales of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were only for the retail physical copies of the game. If digital sales were counted, it’s possible the games would have sold even more.
What is even more impressive is that Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire managed to sell over 1.5 million copies in just three days. The numbers were only counted from November 21st until November 23rd.
As popular as Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is in Japan, it would be interesting to see how the game performs in other countries. It has been a very highly competitive time of year with games like Grand Theft Auto V, Far Cry 4 and more being out all at the same time.
Nintendo should be happy with the way Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is selling though. The 3DS has been very consistent and is one of the more popular consoles out there at the moment.
