It looks like the upcoming PlayStation 4 firmware for the console will be releasing this month. According to a recent tweet from Sony’s European PR team revealed earlier this morning. The tweet reads: “Heads-up: PS4 firmware update 1.70, inc. SHAREFactory and HDCP Off, goes live on 30th April. More soon!”

The update brings about the recently revealed SHAREFactory features that allow for deeper editing of captured footage on the PS4.

The firmware will also allow players to record video with external capture cards by disabling the HDCP protection on the console. Other features said to be arriving on April 30th include enhanced Twitch functionality. We’ll have to wait and see what else will be included in the update, as Sony says more details are set to arrive between now and when the update goes live.
