2014 has been a successful year for Sony as the PS4 has been the best selling console in two PAL markets.

Sony has just released a new TV advertisement over in the UK that shows off all of the PS4 games you can play during the Holidays. At the end of the advertisement, it boasts that the PS4 is the best selling console in the UK in 2014.

The UK is the biggest PS4 market in Europe with Germany at a close second. Things started to shift for Microsoft however with the Xbox One’s price cut and removal of Kinect. Still, the majority of the year belonged to Sony. PS4 consoles were flying off the shelves in the UK in September when Destiny came out.

On a related note, Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand recently sent out a press release revealing the PS4’s success over there. The console is the fastest selling video game console in a decade over in New Zealand. This means the PS4 sold at a faster rate than the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U and Xbox One consoles.

If you lived in New Zealand, you may have remembered how hard it was getting a PS4 console during launch. Stores were sold out for months with supply not meeting the huge demand for the console.

It will be interesting to see if Microsoft make the Xbox One bounce back in 2015 as this year belonged to Sony.
