Playstation users began reporting intermittent issues connecting to PSN this morning. Sony has acknowledged the problem in a tweet that reads “Network update: our engineers are aware of the issues and are working to resolve. We’ll keep you posted – sorry for the inconvenience”. At this time the extent of the trouble is not known, but if it is anything like the attack on Sunday we could see the whole network go down for a while.

If this is another DDOS attack like the one a few days ago then it is likely being perpetrated by the same group who call themselves the Lizard Squad. They have been hinting at more attacks lately, with a few tweets this morning aimed at Sony. They said “HEY @Sony PICK UP THE PHONE” and “So Sony, I heard you like brackets, and you know what rhymes with brackets?” The last one was most likely referencing internet packets.
After the attack on Sunday Sony was able to restore services the following day. While PSN issues remain intermittent at this time there is no word on when the current problem will be resolved, or if it will get worse any time soon.

UPDATE:Â Sony has sent out a tweet saying that the issues are being resolved. “Network connectivity is being restored. Thanks for your patience.”
