SEGA and Relic Entertainment are launching a new update for Company of Heroes 2 today. This new update will be adding two new community features to the game, Observer Mode and Mod Tools. In Observer Mode, players will be able to sync up and watch live multiplayer matches as they progress. The viewers will be able to view the games from multiple angles, at different speeds, player perspectives and also grants access to live data that wasn’t previously accessible. This will allow players to watch and learn strategic opportunities in turn, learn from the best players in the world. Players will also now have access to twitch to show off their skills to a much broader audience if they so choose.
Observer Mode Features Include:
Hundreds of viewers
- More than 500 concurrent viewers per live match
- The ability to scale up to tens of thousands for special events
A Customized UI
- The ability to turn off UI for a more cinematic mode
- Information is now easily displayed to quickly find the right match
Customized Settings
- Live-casting permission can now be turned on or off
- A delay slider (0 to 15 minutes)
- A password option to bypass delay

- Commander Trees, Commander abilities and cooldowns

Observing as a Party
- You have the ability to invite other users to the party
- Helps to stay in synch and keep casting teams together
The Mod Tools is one of the most eagerly awaited additions to the Company of Heroes 2’s roster of community centric features. This will help equip the modding community with more opportunities to create their very own custom content. Players can modify existing content to refine the game experience to their liking. They now have options to change winning conditions and game rules that will create even more diverse content that will be available for everyone to enjoy.
