GTA V is expected to be one of the biggest video game releases of 2013.  With years of pent-up demand from GTA fans, analysts have been projecting Grand Theft Auto V to be a huge release for Rockstar Games and Take Two.  Launching in the face of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, retailers are still signalling that millions will flock to retailers to pick up the game on the game’s September launch event.

According to a report by CVG, retailers in the UK are securing millions of copies of the game.  Projections by the source are saying that it could be the fastest selling game to ever be released in the UK, passing Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.

With the installed base of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at their all-time highs, all signs are pointing to GTA V being  a huge release for Take Two, regardless of the game shatters records set earlier in the generation.  The massive release is said to be a turning point for the games industry as a whole.

Analysts have pointed to GTA V as the catalyst, which followed by the release of next-generation consoles, will start a new era of upward momentum for the games industry as a whole.
