Rocket League Gets Exclusive Mario and Metroid Cars for Switch

by Kyle Hanson

After months of fan outcry and downright begging, Rocket League was finally announced for Nintendo Switch a few months ago. The announcement was pretty vague, simply promising the “soccer with cars” game would arrive on Nintendo’s new system, but the possibilities were obvious. Today one of those possibilities has become a reality with Psyonix announcing that Rocket League will have special Mario and Luigi cars, along with Samus’ ship from Metroid exclusively available on Nintendo Switch.

The Mario themed cars are actually just one new type of car, and players who use it will alternate between the Mario and Luigi versions, depending on what team they are placed on. Dubbed the Mario NSR and Luigi NSR, players on Orange Team will have Mario and those on Blue Team will be Luigi.

Along with these comes a Metroid battle car that is themed after Samus’ gunship. “Samus’ Gunship also has two different variations based upon what team color a player chooses, and are styled after different Varia Suits.” You can check out all of these cars in action in the trailer below. They just might make this version worth a double or triple dip.

Rocket League hits Nintendo Switch this holiday season.
