Everyone hold on to your hats, because your favorite mechanical ninja, Yoshimitsu, is set to return in SoulCalibur 6.
Just like with Taki, this revelation came via a leaked trailer, but its more than likely that Bandai Namco will make the official announcement in a few hours.
Yoshimitsu has been a mainstay in the series, having appeared in every SoulCalibur title since he debuted in the original in 1998. Unknown to those not in the know, however, is that the Yoshimitsu we have now is not the same one we started off with. Specifically, the one playable in I–IV is the original, while the one from V was his disciple. On a similar note, the Yoshimitsu from this series isn’t the same one from Tekken, as the name “Yoshimitsu” is only given to those whose who wield the weapon of the same name and leads the Manji Clan.
Of course, just because his true identity changes, doesn’t mean his fighting style does and this Yoshimitsu utilizes the same unpredictable fighting style as all the others. And just like with everyone else, he has a super attack which has him do a cleaving attack on his opponent from above before reaching inside their chest, pulling out what appears to be their soul and slashing it, causing them to keel over.
With this announcement the amount of characters in SoulCalibur 6 now stands at 12: Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Kilik, Xianghua, Nightmare, Groh, Ivy, Zasalamel, Geralt, Siegfried, Taki and Yoshimitsu.
SoulCalibur 6Â is due out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2018.
