Splatoon Is Getting Two More Free DLC Maps Soon

by Dean James

Christmas Vacation may have brought us the Jelly of the Month Club, but Splatoon truly is the gift that keeps on giving the whole year long. While some complained at launch about a lack of content overall, we’ve gotten a steady stream all year long and now two more maps are coming, perhaps before Christmas.

As revealed in a new trailer, the next update for Splatoon is set to bring us two more free maps as DLC. These two maps are known as Ancho-V and Piranha Pit, both of which looks very intriguing.

Ancho-V utilizes a very unique office like setting, while Piranha Pit has a water setting, which means we are getting two maps that are very different from one another in most every way. However, they both look like they will be a blast to spread ink all over.

The official Splatoon Tumblr page has been the source of most new information about the game since launch and they also released some screenshots for these maps, though it sounds like a release date isn’t set in stone yet.

“We’re not quite sure when they’ll be ready for you squidkids, but we do know that there will be server maintenance tomorrow from 4:50 PM – 6:00 PM PT.”

It would be a great Christmas gift to get these following the server maintenance or at least in time for Christmas next week for new Splatoon owners to experience over the holidays. In the mean time, make sure to check out the trailer below to see these maps in action.
