Square Enix Store Claims Star Ocean 5 Launching June 28th

While we recently learned that Star Ocean 5 will be getting a US release this Summer, an official announcement from Square Enix has not been made yet. However, they just put up a page for the game on their store and on it the release date is listed as June 28th.

The game will be getting a “Day One Edition” on PlayStation 4, which will get you free in-game items and alternate battle music from the Valkyrie Profile series. It will cost $59.99, so those who are getting the game at launch will be getting some nice bonuses for free.

While Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness will be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan, the game will only be available on PlayStation 4 elsewhere. A specific reason for this was not revealed, though it could be due to quality concerns stemming from the PlayStation 3 version being delayed in Japan.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is developed by tri-Ace and marks the first installment in the series since 2009’s Star Ocean: The Last Hope.
