Star Wars: Episode 8 And More Could Have Been In Disney Infinity 4.0

by Damian Seeto

It was announced not too long ago that Disney cancelled Disney Infinity altogether. Now reports have been coming in as to what Disney was going to do with the fourth game and more.

Kotaku reached out to two sources that spilled the beans on what Disney Infinity 4.0 could have been like. Not only were there plans for the fourth game, but several other play sets based on multiple movies were coming out in the near future.

One of the sadder things is that there was going to be a play set based upon Star Wars: Rogue One due to be out later this year to coincide with the movie. Disney was also planning to release all-new figures that were going to be 12 inches tall and would have cost $45. The characters planned were “Buzz Lightyear, Elsa, Hulk, Hulkbuster, Jack Skellington, and Darth Vader“.

Disney Infinity 4.0 would have been huge and included the following movies: “Cars 3, Star Wars: Episode 8, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Coco, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and Thor: Ragnarok“. The game would have had an all-new story mode for the Toy Box. This means you would have been able to have different characters playing in other franchises’ levels.

The two main issues that led to the franchise’s cancellation is that they made too many toys at once. They produced 2 million Hulk toys, but only managed to sell half of that. Not to mention the release of Star Wars Battlefront reduced the amount of sales of Disney Infinity 3.0. More kids wanted Battlefront over Disney Infinity last Christmas.
