Right now, Star Wars: The Old Republic is only available on the PC. There are some reasons as to why the game isn’t going to get ported over to the PS4 and/or Xbox One like other MMORPGs.

DualShockers had a chance to interview James Ohlen who serves as the lead designer for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The main reason the game is only on PC right now is due to technical reasons. The game was built for the PC and it would be hard to port it over to consoles. The game was built for the keyboard and mouse control system among other things Ohlen explained. It would be a challenge to port the game for consoles that use controllers only.

Ohlen said he and the team are not against porting Star Wars: The Old Republic onto consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, it’s just they haven’t found a solution. If you want to play the game, it looks like the PC platform to get it on. The game is not as easy to port like other MMORPGs.

If you do own Star Wars: The Old Republic on PC, you can expect another expansion and more updates coming very soon. BioWare promises bigger things are to come in 2015.
