Among the large and ever growing crop of smaller, independently developed games, there have emerged a few juggernauts. Stardew Valley is one of these, growing from a PC exclusive farming simulator into a million seller across multiple platforms. Now the game is expanding its release slate, offering newcomers more content at a discounted price with the newly release Stardew Valley Collector’s Edition, which just launched on PS4 and Xbox One.

The Stardew Valley Collector’s Edition comes with: The full base game. A disc containing the Collector’s Edition Soundtrack featuring 33 hand-picked tracks. Exclusive Full Printed Map of Stardew Valley. And a Mini-Guidebook created by the artist and author of the full guidebook, Kari Fry.

Stardew Valley has grown a massive cult following with its die hard adherence to classic game design tropes. Delivering the farm simulator experience that fans fell in love with in the Harvest Moon series, among others, the game has grown quite a bit since its initial release. This Collector’s Edition should help make it easier for new players to join in, with some extra goodies thrown in.

Some have expressed caution about picking this release up though, but only if you plan to get the game for Nintendo Switch. Stardew Valley is coming to the Switch later this year, but it’s not clear yet if that will be in this Collector’s Edition format. If you want to play the game on the go then you should hold off for now and decide once we know more.

If you won’t be getting a Switch then this is definitely the time to grab the game. It has grown and changed over the last few months and fans have loved every second of it. Expect to get dozens of highly enjoyable hours out of it.
